The Nomad Equipment's kevlar core paracord differs from paracord 550 cord in that its core is not made of nylon but of kevlar fibers.

The kevlar paracord sheath is the same material used for paracord 550.

The outer sheath of kevlar cord does not, but the inner fibers tolerate high temperature effects very well, even if the outer sheath melts, the inner fibers are permanently flame resistant.

Paracord was a parachute cord developed for the American army in the Second World War, which has since become a popular survival and hiking tool in addition to military use.

Kevlar cord is a light plastic cord consisting of an inner core and an outer sheath of several kevlar fibers.
